Adding assets and tags
Who can do it: Service provider, customer user
Where: Wialon Platform FleetSpace
Tags and anchors are added to the account automatically after they start sending data through the gateway you connected earlier. Assets are the items you track, so you add them yourself: one by one or from a file.
For the hardware installation guidelines (the number of anchors for each floor, the coverage area, and the gateway placement), see the Teltonika documentation.

- In the Category field, select the category, for example,

Importing assets and tags from a file
If you have a list of assets in an accounting or ERP system, export it and upload it to the platform.
- Go to the Assets or Tags page.
- Click Import.
- Select the CSV file.
- Select the column that contains the data:
- For assets: select the column with the asset name.
- For tags: select the column with the tag ident. The other columns in the file are ignored.
- Check the preview and click Import N rows, where N is the number of rows in the file.
The import runs in the background. The items appear in the list as they’re created.
You can also import anchors and gateways. For details, see Placing anchors and gateways on the floor plan.
Managing the asset list
The Assets page shows all assets of the account in a table. Above the tabs, you can see how many assets are in the account, how many of them are tracked (paired with a tag), and how many are without a tag.
The table contains the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | The name of the asset. |
| Inventory number | The inventory number of the asset, if it’s set. |
| Category | The category of the asset. The assets without a category are shown as Uncategorized. |
| Tag | The name of the tag paired with the asset. The assets without a tag are shown with the No tag value. |
| Ident | The ident of the paired tag. |
| Building | The building where the asset was last detected. |
| Floor | The floor where the asset was last detected. |
| Zone | The zone where the asset was last detected. |
| Status | The current status of the asset. |
| Last seen | The time passed since the tag was last detected. |
| Battery | The battery level of the paired tag. |
If a value isn’t set or isn’t available yet, a dash is shown instead.
If a tag was created automatically after it started sending data, its name in the Tag column is shown as tag-<ident> (autocreated). You can rename such a tag on the Tags page.
To find an asset, use the Search field. To narrow down the list, apply one of the filters above it:
| Filter | Result |
|---|---|
| All | All assets of the account. |
| Tracked | Only the assets paired with a tag. |
| No tag | Only the assets that aren’t paired with a tag. |
To show, hide, or reorder the columns, click the icon
. To restore the default settings, click Reset.
To see the assets on the floor plan, go to the Live View page. For details, see Finding assets on the map.
Actions in the asset row
To work with an asset, click the icon
in its row. The set of available actions depends on the asset state and your permissions.
| Action | Description | Available for |
|---|---|---|
| Find on map | Shows the asset on the floor plan of the building where it’s located. | Tracked assets with a known position |
| Edit | Change the asset name, icon, color, inventory number, and other properties. | All assets |
| Move to category | Assign the asset to another category. | All assets |
| Change tag | Pair the asset with a tag or replace the current tag. See Pairing tags with assets. | All assets |
| Unpair tag | Unpair the tag from the asset. The asset stops being tracked, and the tag becomes free. | Tracked assets |
| Delete | Remove the asset from the account. | All assets |
You can’t open an asset by clicking its row in the list if the platform doesn’t know the asset position. This happens in the following cases:
- The asset isn’t paired with a tag.
- The asset is paired with a tag, but the tag hasn’t sent any data yet. Such a tag has the Not seen status.
- The tag has sent data, but the position can’t be defined, for example, because none of the anchors that detected the tag are placed on a floor plan.
In these cases, use the icon menu in the asset row to work with the asset.
