To log in to the monitoring system, follow the steps below.

  1. Select the interface language.

If necessary, you can change the language later in the user settings.

  2. Specify your username. The field is case-sensitive.
  3. Specify your password. The field is case-sensitive. To see the specified password, click on the icon .
  4. Enable the Remember option to save the indicated data if needed. In this case, the next time you log in to the system you will not be asked to enter your username and password again. Also, this option is necessary to log in to the system automatically in case of losing the session. The option is valid for 30 days. It is deactivated when you log out of the system.
  5. Click Log in.

Signing in with a Google account

To sign in with Google, click on the Google button and in the window that opens, select the Google account that is connected with your Wialon account.

Signing in with two-factor authentication

If two-factor authentication is enabled for your account, you should enter a verification code apart from the password when logging in. The code is sent via email or SMS and is valid for 2 hours.

If the login fails and the entered code becomes red, it means that the code is specified incorrectly. If you enter the wrong code several times, the login will be temporarily blocked.

Questions and answers

What should I do if I haven't received the verification code?

Click Resend the code. The option becomes active 30 seconds after the first request. In case of using two-factor authentication by SMS, you can select the method of sending the second code: via SMS or email.

The time is shown in red and the following message is shown in the centre of the screen: Unable to connect to the server. The page will be reloaded automatically when the connection is restored. What does it mean?

This may be due to the lack of internet connection or internal system problems.

When the connection is restored, the message disappears and the system continues working. If the connection with the server is lost for 5 minutes or more, the session is terminated. After the connection is restored, the login page opens. If the Remember option has been enabled earlier, you will be signed in automatically.

Getting a new password

If you have a Wialon account and have forgotten its password, follow the steps below.

  1. Follow the Forgot your password? link.
  2. Specify your username, email address, and click Reset password. If the specified data matches the data stored in the database, you will get an email to the indicated address.

  3. Open the link and copy a new login password.
  4. Return to the login page and use the new password to log in.

The link is valid for two hours after the message is sent. You can use this link only once.

If you have clicked Forgot your password? by accident, delete the received email and use your previous username and password.

You can reset the password no more than once a minute.

Changing the password

If the Can change password option is activated on the General tab of the user properties, then, according to the security rules, the password change is required at first login.

In the window that opens, specify the current password, then enter the new one and confirm it in the Confirm password field. The new password must differ from the current one and meet the security requirements.

For security reasons, all user tokens are deleted from the system after the password is changed.

You can also change your password on the Security tab of the user settings.

When changing the password, you can't make more than 10 incorrect attempts within 5 minutes.

Logging in as another user

You should have the Act on behalf of this user access right to the user on behalf of whom you want to log in.

You can use different methods to log in as another (subordinate) user.

Method 1

  1. Specify your username and password on the login page.
  2. Follow the Log in as link.
  3. Select the name of the required user.

After that, you can only access the objects and perform the actions allowed for this user. The login history is saved for the user you logged in as.

Method 2

  1. Log in to your account as usual.
  2. Click on the icon  next to the username in the top panel.

  3. In the list that opens, click on the row of the required user to log in as this user in the current tab. To do this in a new window, click the icon . In the list, the account to which the user belongs is shown next to the user's name. The icon  to the left of the name indicates that the user is the account creator. The list has a dynamic search which works by users and accounts.

If you use this method, the login record is not saved in the history of the subordinate user.

Method 3

Open the Users tab and click on the icon  next to the name of the required user. If you don't have sufficient access rights to perform this action, the icon is inactive.

When logging in as another user, their name is shown in brackets next to your username in the right corner of the top panel.

Returning to the main user

To return to the main user, click on the icon to the right of the name and confirm the action in the open window.
