Preparation for Work

Before starting to work with Logistics, it is recommended to follow the steps below.

  1. In Wialon Local, activate the Orders service.
  1. Create a unit, if there is not any. Fill in the Carrying capacity and Effective capacity fields in its properties.
  2. Create a driver. Fill in the Phone number and the Mobile key fields.
  3. Assign the driver to the unit.
  4. Configure access rights and enable the required options in the CMS (see the section below).
  5. In the Logistics application, open the settings and select the resource to which the driver created in Wialon Local belongs.
In order for the application mobile and web versions to work correctly, the warehouses, orders, routes, drivers, and geofences should belong to the same resource.

Measurement system

The application uses the measurement system specified in the user settings in Wialon Local.

Address format

In the Address line of orders and warehouses, the components (for example, street, house, city, country) are arranged in the sequence specified on the Maps tab of the user settings in Wialon Local.

Editing unit properties
If the user does not have the Request reports or messages or Use unit in jobs, notifications, routes, retranslators rights, the units become unavailable for use in the application.

Options in CMS

In order for the application to work correctly, the following options must be activated in the user properties in CMS:

  • Can create objects — to create orders (if the option is not enabled, the New order and the Import orders tabs are inactive);
  • Can send SMS — to edit the phone number in orders and select the phone number in the settings and orders (if the option is not enabled, the field for entering an SMS message text is inactive);
  • Can change settings — to edit the settings.

Configuring Logistics in Wialon Local

Below are the components required for working with Logistics in Wialon Local.

Separate DNS Create a separate DNS and direct it to the external IP of the server. In the administration system, indicate this DNS in the settings of the site of the Logistics type. 
Hardware IPIn order for the Tracker mode option to work in the Logistics Local mobile application, the Hardware IP field should be completed in the system settings in the administration system.
CMS settingsIn CMS, you can configure Logistics in the same way as other applications. Indicate the created DNS in the URL field.
