A unit (a monitoring unit) is a tracked vehicle, machinery (including stationary), person, or animal.

To monitor a unit, it is required to install a device on it for sending data messages to the monitoring system. The device should be supported by the system (see the list at wialon.com). You can install different types of sensors on the unit to receive data on the fuel level, engine operation, temperature, etc.

On the Units tab, you can create units and unit groups to monitor them later on the Monitoring tab. Here you can also perform the following actions with units: sending SMS messages, editing unit properties, copying, and deleting. There is a dynamic search which works by unit name on the tab.
