Notifications

In Wialon, a notification is a rule that monitors units and performs actions when specific conditions are met, for example, speeding, inactivity, fuel drains, geofence entry or exit, sensor value changes, and so on.

See the full guide in the Notifications section.

Let’s create a notification that detects vehicle idling with the engine on for more than 10 minutes.

  1. Click New on the Notifications tab.

  2. Enter a name for the notification (for example, Idling from 10 min.).

  3. Select the resource where the notification is stored.

  4. Optionally, add a description (for example, “Vehicle stopped and engine ON”).

  5. Click the icon , select the units to monitor in the dialog, and click Save.

  6. Select a condition (for example, Inactivity) and configure its settings: set the maximum allowed off time and the speed threshold.

  7. If needed, click Add condition to add more conditions. Select the AND or OR operator to combine them (for example, add a Sensor range condition for the engine ignition sensor). Click Next.

  8. Set a schedule or limitations if needed. Click Next.

  9. Select and configure one or more actions (for example, Display online notification in a popup window and Register event for unit). Click Next.

  10. Enter the notification text using tags that are replaced with real values when the notification is triggered. Click Save.

When a notification is triggered, it is displayed in a pop-up window in the bottom right corner of the screen.

If you find a mistake in the text, please select it and press Ctrl+Enter.
