How to Add Address Information and Speed Limits to HERE

This guide describes how add address information and speed limits to HERE Map Creator and edit them. If you find outdated or incorrect addresses or speed limits on Gurtam Maps, you can make changes to them in HERE Map Creator. The changes will be added to Gurtam Maps by our team.

Make sure that your edits are reliable and based on information from national cadastral services or other verified ground-truth sources.

The guide includes the following actions:

• Logging in to HERE Map Creator;
• Setting up the map for editing;
• Adding a house number;
• Updating a house number;
• Adding a road (street);
• Updating a road (street);
• Updating a road speed limit.

Log in or sign up at https://mapcreator.here.com/.

In order to start editing the map, navigate the map to locate the area you want to edit. If you know the coordinates of the required location, you can enter them into the search bar.

Before you start editing, you can customize the editor. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Change the map layer. For example, switch to Satellite.

2. Enable or disable editable layers.

To add a house number, follow the steps below.

1. Zoom in on the required location.
2. Enable House numbers in the Editable objects window.
   
3. Select the Add house number tool and click where you want to add the address.
   
4. Make sure the house is related to the correct street. If it is not, you can drag the connection point to the correct street manually. If the street you need doesn’t have a name or doesn’t exist at all, you will have to add it to the map.
   
5. Enter the house number.
   
6. Click Save.

To update a house number, follow the steps below.

1. Zoom in on the required address point.
2. Enable House numbers in the Editable objects window.
   
3. Select the house number you want to update.
   
4. Move the point if necessary.
   
5. Change the house number if necessary.
   
6. Update the street connection if necessary. You can drag the connection point to the required street. If the street you need doesn’t have a name or doesn’t exist at all, you will have to add it to the map.
7. Click Save.

To add a street, follow the steps below.

1. Zoom in on the street location.
2. Select the Add road tool.
   
3. Draw the street path.
   
4. Enter the street name in the Road name field. You can also enter the name in another language.
   
5. Add other road attributes such as speed limits, movement direction, and so on.
   
6. Click Save.
   

To update a street, follow the steps below.

1. Zoom in on the street location.
2. Click on the street line to select it.
   
3. Correct the geometry, if necessary.
   
4. Edit the road name.
   
5. Click Save.

To update a road speed limit, follow the steps below.

1. Zoom in on the street location.
2. Click on the street line to select it. You can select multiple road segments by pressing Ctrl.
   
3. Enter the speed limit value. Take into account the movement direction and units of measurement.
   
4. Click Save.
