Unit Access Rights
  • access_rights
  • units

Access rights to a unit allow the user to see the location of this unit on the map, track its indicators (speed, altitude, sensor values, and so on), send commands and messages to it, use the unit in reports, notifications, jobs, and perform other actions with it.

You can change access rights to a unit in two ways: in the properties of this unit or in the user properties. In the user properties, you should select Units in the filter, mark the required unit in the list and select the rights the user should have to this unit. Read more about granting access rights here.

As in the case of other macro-objects, the rights to units are divided into standard and special ones.

Standard access rights

Below are the standard access rights the users may have to units.

Access right

Description

View object and its basic properties

Allows seeing the unit on different lists and tabs, tracking its movement on the map in real time, and, if route access rights are granted, allows tracking the unit movement along the route.

If this access right is granted, the following data is displayed in the unit tooltip and extended information:

  • last message time;
  • location;
  • speed;
  • altitude;
  • number of visible satellites;
  • counter, parameter and sensor values;
  • geofences within which the unit is located;
  • assigned driver.

This access right also allows seeing the following information in the unit properties:

  • Unit name, creator, account, counters on the General tab. The names of the creator and account are shown if the View object and its basic properties right to them is granted.
  • Unit caption colour, Track colour and Usage of sensor colours sections on the Advanced tab.
  • Unit sensors on the Sensors tab.
  • Groups to which the unit belongs on the Unit groups tab (if unit group access rights are granted as well).
The View object and its basic properties access right doesn’t allow editing the unit properties and performing other actions with it. Additional access rights are required for this purpose.
The  View object and its basic properties access right is given by default when any other unit access right is granted. To take this right away, you should deprive the user of all the access rights to the unit.
