Setting up additional properties for flexible information management

To allow your customers to capture consistent and tailored data for their maintenance services, you can define a set of additional properties. An additional property can record such information as the technician’s name, invoice number, number of parts replaced, whether the vehicle is ready for use upon service, and so on. To create additional properties:

  1. In Wialon Platfrom Studio, Select Customers in the sidebar.

  2. Choose the customer for whom you want to define additional properties. Use the search to find the customer quickly.

  3. Navigate to the Settings tab for that customer’s profile.

  4. Expand the Maintenance additional properties section.

  5. Click the Add button to create a new additional property row.

  6. In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the additional property. For example, Technician, Invoice number or Number of parts replaced.

  7. In the Type field, select the type of data for the property:

  • String for text.
  • Integer for whole numbers.
  • Number for numerical values (for example, a receipt number).
  1. Optionally, you can enter a default value in the Default field.
  2. Repeat this procedure for all the additional properties you want to add for this customer.
  3. After adding and configuring all the properties, click Save at the bottom of the page.

The additional properties are now available in the service creation form in the customer’s account.

To remove a property, click the icon next to it.
