Trips

The Trips module is a core platform component designed to automatically detect and record vehicle trips with precision. By registering key details such as start and end times, duration, distance, and routes, the module provides reliable data for analyzing fleet performance. This information helps businesses to:

• optimize routes
• reduce unnecessary costs
• calculate driver payrolls
• perform proactive vehicle maintenance
• improve fleet efficiency
• extend vehicle lifespan
• achieve long-term sustainability goals

This guide provides step-by-step instructions covering standard tasks for TSPs (Telematic Service Providers) and fleet managers. Fleet managers work in Wialon Platform FleetSpace, whereas TSP tasks require access to the Wialon Platform Studio.

Configuring and using the module includes the following steps:

1. Configuring the “Trip detection” settings
2. Enabling trip chips and widgets
3. Configuring Track player
4. Working with the Track player page:
   • Retrieving trip tracks
   • Playing tracks
   • Viewing track data

Once the module is enabled, the Trips functionalities are accessible for the selected customer.

Features in Wialon Platform Studio become available automatically. Features in Wialon Platform FleetSpace must be added and configured manually.
