Disabling private use mode for a device
Who can do it: Service provider, customer
Where: Wialon Platform FleetSpace
Private use mode can be deactivated for a device in three ways:
- By turning off a physical hardware switch in the vehicle
- Manually via the Manage private use or Private use (chip) widget in Wialon Platform FleetSpace
- Automatically when the duration set during its activation via the widget has expired
When private use is disabled, the device position data becomes visible again.
Disabling private use via hardware
If your device is equipped with a physical button or switch for private mode, turning off this hardware control will disable private use, provided the Private use sensor has been correctly configured in Wialon Platform Studio. For detailed instructions, see Configuring the Private use sensor.
Disabling private use via a widget
To disable private use mode for a device using the Manage private use widget or the Private use (chip), follow these steps:
- Log in to Wialon Platform FleetSpace.
- Navigate to the Devices section or Drivers online section, depending on where the widget is configured.
- Select the device for which you want to disable private use. In the case of drivers, you disable private use for the device to which the driver is assigned.
- Locate the Manage private use widget or the Private use (chip). The Manage private use widget (indicated with the icon
) can be located directly on the list row, inside the menu that opens after clicking on the three dots icon 
, or on the details page. The Private use (chip) can be found on the list row or on the details page. - Click on the Manage private use widget, or click on the icon
of the Private use (chip). - In the opened window, you will have the following options to disable private mode:
- Click Apply without checking the Force business mode option to simply deactivate private mode.
- Force business mode: Check this option to forcefully disable private mode, overriding any private mode parameter sent by the device. If you select this, you can also specify a duration for which the device will remain in business mode. In case if forced business mode ends before the private mode deactivation, the private mode will be turned on again. Click Apply.
As a result, all effects of private mode activation are cancelled.
