Viewing video and media

Wialon Platform FleetSpace provides dedicated widgets to access live video streams and view historical media files (videos and photos) from your devices.

The Video stream widget is available in the device details if the device has at least one camera configured. There are two ways to start a live stream.

1. Log in to Wialon Platform FleetSpace.
2. Navigate to the Devices page and click on the required device to open its details.
3. Locate the Video stream widget.
4. Click the play button to start the live stream.

If a camera channel is set for the widget, the widget shows the stream from this camera only and displays its label, for example, “Camera 1”. If no camera channel is set, the widget shows the stream from the first streaming camera, and you can use the camera selector to switch between the cameras that are streaming at the same time.

The page can contain several Video stream widgets, each with its own camera. Every widget works independently, so you can watch, for example, the front and the rear camera at the same time. For details on this setting, see Setting up several video streams.

You can also start a stream from a specific camera by sending the Start video stream command that your service provider configured for the required camera channel. For instructions, see Request video and pictures using commands.

To view historical media files (videos and photos) from a device:

1. Log in to Wialon Platform FleetSpace.
2. Navigate to the Devices page and click on the required device to open its details.
3. Locate the Media widget. This widget includes a calendar to help you navigate through dates with available media. A numerical indicator on each date shows the number of available media for that day.
4. Select a date to view a list of available media files (videos and photos) for that day.
5. Click on a list item to view the media file.

The received media files are stored in the system for a year. The total size of stored tachograph files, images and videos can’t exceed 2 GB. Once this limit is reached and new files are requested, older files are automatically removed from system storage to free up space.

To quickly access the most recent video from a device:

1. Log in to Wialon Platform FleetSpace.
2. Navigate to the Devices page and click on the required device to open its details.
3. Locate the Latest video widget. It contains the most recently recorded video clip.
4. Click on the widget to view the clip.
