Tachograph control

The Tachograph control module allows you to monitor real-time tachograph data, review recorded driver activity and events, analyze infringements of driving and rest rules, request tachograph files manually and automatically, download them to your computer, and track file download deadlines. It also enables the automatic driver creation, assignment and unassignment.

The Tachograph control module is currently supported for these devices:

• Queclink: GV300CAN, GV355CEU, CV200
• Ruptela: HCV5, HCV5 Lite, FM-Tco4 HCV
• Teltonika: FMC150, FMC250, FMC640, FMC650, FMM640, FMM650, FMB630, FMB640, FMB641, FM6300, FM6320
• Xirgo: XT-4750
• Xirgo-mqtt: XG3700 TACHO SDK, LX45
• BCE: FMS500 Tacho, FM-500 Tacho
• Squarell: REMOTE
• Assistant Telematics: AVT110

The Xirgo, Xirgo-mqtt, and BCE devices send tachograph files by themselves, so you can’t request files from them.

The module also works with flespi gateway devices that send tachograph files from your flespi account. For details, see Receiving files from flespi gateway devices.

This guide provides step-by-step instructions covering standard tasks for service providers and fleet managers. Fleet managers work in Wialon Platform FleetSpace, whereas the service provider’s tasks require access to Wialon Platform Studio.

The module works with two sources of tachograph data, and they’re set up separately.

Live telemetry shows the current activity of the drivers, the remaining driving times, and the next rest deadlines on the Live tab, in the driver details, and in the Wialon Driver mobile app. It doesn’t require the Tacho bridge application or a company card.

To get live data, complete the following steps:

1. Make sure the device sends tachograph telemetry and enable the Tachograph option for it.
2. Make sure the drivers are created with the codes of their tachograph cards. See Connecting a tachograph card.

Tachograph files (.ddd) contain the activity and the events recorded by the tachograph. They’re used for the infringements, the chronography, and the tachograph reports. The received files are processed only if the Tachograph control module is enabled for the customer of the device.

To download tachograph files, complete the steps for live data and the following steps:

1. Set up tachograph file downloads: install the Tacho bridge application, add your company cards, and link the devices to the companies.
2. Select the slot types to request from each device.

If you have your own flespi account, your devices can also send tachograph files through flespi gateway devices without these steps. For details, see Receiving files from flespi gateway devices.

After the module is configured, you can:

• Work with tachograph files: Request, download, and delete tachograph files, and monitor download due dates.
• View tachograph data: View live driver data in FleetSpace and in the Wialon Driver app, the driver activity chronography, and tachograph widgets.
• Generate tachograph reports: Analyze driver activity events, tachograph infringements, and vehicle unit events.

Once the module is enabled, the Tachograph control functionalities are accessible for the selected customer. The features marked in the Also requires “Drivers” column work only when the Drivers module is also enabled.

All the widgets are available in Wialon Platform FleetSpace. The Tacho file and Driver latest tachograph file widgets are also shown in the Wialon Platform mobile app.

The widgets aren’t included in the default workspace. To make them available to the users of the customer, add them to the required workspace in the editor mode.

The reports are generated on the Reports page in Wialon Platform FleetSpace. For details, see Generating tachograph reports.
