Setting up the “Tachograph control” module

The Tachograph control module must be set up by the service provider in Wialon Platform Studio. Setting up the module includes:

• Installing the Tacho Bridge application
• Adding the application to the module
• Adding companies to the module
• Linking devices to the companies

Each of these steps is described below.

To install the Tacho Bridge application:

1. In Wialon Platform Studio, open the Tachograph control tab.
2. Follow the Tacho Bridge application link.
3. Download the application. For Windows, use the download link with the .msi extension. For macOS, use the link with the .dmg extension.
4. Install the Tacho bridge application on your computer.

To add the installed application to the module:

1. On the Tachograph control tab of Wialon Platform Studio, copy the server address next to the application download link.
2. Start the Tacho bridge application.
3. Open the application settings (the icon on Windows, or the Config button on macOS).
4. In the App ident field, specify the application identifier. You can enter any value of 13 characters, but make sure it is unique within your account.
5. In the Server address field, paste the copied server address.
6. Click Save.
7. On the Tachograph control tab of Wialon Platform Studio, click Add.
8. Enter the name which you want to use for the Tacho bridge application installed on your computer.
9. Specify the application identifier. It must be the same as in step 4.
10. Click Save.

After that, the added application is displayed on the Tachograph control tab.

You can add multiple Tacho bridge applications installed on different computers to the tab. It will allow different employees who use this account to request tachograph files from their computers.

Adding companies to the module includes:

• Adding company cards to the Tacho bridge application
• Adding companies to Wialon Platform Studio

To add company cards to the Tacho Bridge application:

1. Open the Tacho bridge application.
2. Insert the company card into the card reader connected to your computer.
3. When the application detects the card, click the icon in the card section.
4. Take out the card and find the company card number printed on it.
5. Specify the company card number in the application.
6. Insert the card into the card reader.
7. Click Save.

To add companies to Wialon Platform Studio:

1. In Wialon Platform Studio, open the Tachograph control tab.
2. Navigate to the Companies tab.
3. Click Add.
4. Enter the company name.
5. Specify the company card number.
6. Click Save.

After that, the added company is displayed in the list of companies.

You can link only the devices that support tachograph functionality. See their list on the Tachograph control page.

To link devices to the added company:

1. In Wialon Platform Studio, open the Tachograph control tab.
2. Navigate to the Companies tab.
3. Click on the row of the company to which you would like to link a device.
4. Go to the Devices tab of the company details.
5. Click Link devices.
6. Select the devices you want to link to this company.
7. Click Add.
8. Click Save.

The devices are now linked to the company.

You can also link a device to a company in the device details when configuring the tachograph functionality for a device.
