Configuring video widgets

Service providers can configure widgets in Wialon Platform FleetSpace to display video streams and media files for their customers.

Part 1: Adding video widgets to a workspace

Who can do it: Service provider

Where: Wialon Platform FleetSpace

To configure video widgets, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Wialon Platform FleetSpace as the customer.

  2. Navigate to the Devices tab and click on any device to open the device details page.

  3. Click on the service provider name in the left bottom corner and enable the Editor mode.

  4. Ensure the required workspace is selected. If you need to create a new workspace, see the guide on setting up a workspace.

  5. Click Add widget.

  6. Add the required widgets:

    • Video stream: Provides a player for viewing live video streams from a device.
    • Media: Displays a list of media files (videos and photos) with a calendar for navigation.
    • Latest video: Shows a list of the most recently recorded video clips from the device.
  7. Click Save to apply the widget configuration to the workspace.

Part 2: Assigning the workspace to a customer user

Who can do it: Service provider

Where: Wialon Platform Studio

After configuring the workspace, you must grant the customer user permission to access it.

  1. Log in to Wialon Platform Studio.
  2. Navigate to the Customers tab from the main menu.
  3. Select the required customer from the list.
  4. Go to the Users tab within the customer’s details.
  5. Click on the user’s row to open their details and go to the Permissions tab.
  6. Click on the Workspaces section.
  7. Ensure that the workspace you configured in Wialon Platform FleetSpace is selected for this user.
  8. Click Save to apply any changes to the user’s permissions.

Now, when this user logs in to FleetSpace with their credentials, the video widgets you’ve configured will be available in their workspace.
