Customer templates

Customer templates in Wialon Platform Studio provide a streamlined and efficient way for service providers to manage and scale their business by quickly setting up new customer accounts with predefined configurations. Essentially, a customer template functions like a regular customer account but is designed specifically for replication. It allows service providers to standardize configurations for different customers, ensuring consistency and reducing manual setup time.

Configurable elements in a customer template

Customer templates can store configurations for the following modules and settings:

Billing plan and activated features Defines which billing plan and features are active by default in customer accounts created from this template. During account creation only
Action templates Pre-configured actions that can be executed by automations (for example, send online notification, send an email, assign a label, create a service, create a checklist). During account creation and updates
Automations Automated rules and actions that trigger based on specific conditions (for example, connection loss, service due, checklist events). During account creation and updates
Checklist templates A series of steps a driver (or another customer user) must complete to verify a vehicle condition before, during, or after operation. During account creation and updates
Driver behaviour A set of criteria and presets for evaluating driver performance. During account creation and updates
Geofence groups Templates for geofence properties, standardizing their color, icon, and additional property fields. During account creation and updates
Geofences Territories drawn on the map to represent specific areas. Can be visible only in FleetSpace. During account creation and updates
Labels and label groups Labels are predefined tags that can be assigned to vehicles to indicate a type, attribute, or status. Label groups are containers used to group exclusive labels, ensuring a vehicle can only have one label from the set at a time. During account creation and updates
Settings During account creation only

Limitations

  • Templates can’t be applied to multiple customers simultaneously.
  • It is not possible to select individual entities (for example, a single geofence) for transfer; templates are applied as a whole.
  • There is no automatic synchronization between a template and a customer after the customer has been created or updated from that template.
